ELEMENTS OF MUSIC

 INTRODUCTION

Music is part of our everyday life—whether we hear it in movies, celebrations, online videos, or even while studying. But behind every song or musical piece, there are basic building blocks that make it sound the way it does. These are called the Elements of Music. Understanding these elements helps us appreciate music more deeply and recognize how composers and performers create mood, meaning, and emotion in their work.

Before we explore each element in detail, it is important to remember that music is not just random sounds. It is organized, structured, and designed using specific components. By learning these elements, you will be able to listen more carefully, identify what you hear, and even create your own musical ideas with more confidence.

LET’S DIVE TO OUR MAIN DISCUSSION

NOW LET’S HAVE AN ACTIVITY!

For this activity, listen to the song  “Shake it Off by Taylor Swift”. After listening, identify at least three (3) elements of music that you can clearly hear, such as melody, rhythm, tempo, dynamics, timbre, harmony, or form. For each element, write one to two sentences explaining how it was used in the song. You may write your answers on a piece of paper, take a picture of it, and upload it to the GDrive link below, or you may place your answers in a file and submit it through the same GDrive link.

When uploading your file or picture, name it as “Last Name, First Name. Activity”. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1y65VwaWK4IrhVxjwKmfh0yxW6DxXR4TT NEXT, LET’S HAVE A SHORT QUIZ!
